The ElkCast: Episode 4: Memory & Fog

Welcome everyone to this thing that I do…

On this episode I’ll be telling a story of loss and sadness. One of melancholy nostalgia with just a twinge of regret – in other words the standard, normal stuff that I write.

The story I read this time is one from a series called The Impermanence of Objects. These are short meditations on loss. Little vignettes where I try to convey the weight of that loss in one’s life while at the same time attempting to acknowledge the fact that change is inevitable, accepting that change a part of life.

This particular story is called Memory & Fog.

I hope you enjoy the program and I’d love to get your feedback. Leave a comment in the comments section or hit me up on Twitter: and use the hashtag #ElkCast. Or you can do it the old fashioned way and just send an email to

Thanks everyone for listening and I hope to be hearing from you soon.
