The ElkCast: Episode 6: Sand And Sea

Welcome everyone to this thing that I do…

On this episode I’ll be telling a story of loss and sadness…again.  This time its all about New Jersey and the beach and being on the boardwalk. I talk about cooking in a restaurant and the reality of Jersey Shore life (spoiler – its not like MTV). I might also mention an inappropriate story about fudge packing.

The story I read this time is another from the series called The Impermanence of Objects. These are short meditations on loss, little vignettes where I try to convey the weight of that loss in one’s life while at the same time attempting to acknowledge the fact that change is inevitable, accepting that change a part of life.

This particular story is called Sand & Sea.

I hope you enjoy the program and I’d love to get your feedback. Leave a comment in the comments section or hit me up on Twitter: and use the hashtag #ElkCast. Or you can do it the old fashioned way and just send an email to

Thanks everyone for listening and I hope to be hearing from you soon.
